This is goes against the trends of the modern software industry, but Blockpad will always put offline desktop software first. Nothing beats great software running on your own computer.
When you save a file to your computer, it stays just on your computer. Blockpad does not "phone home" with your content.
Blockpad has some optional cloud features, but you can choose to disable them if you want.
We believe you should have total control over your data.
Transparent file format
Blockpad prioritizes your continuous, permanent access to your intellectual property. In Blockpad, all files created are stored in an easy-to-access XML-based file format. We also offer archives of all released versions, which can be used to access files no matter what, even without a license.
Anyone, even without a Blockpad license, can use Blockpad for free to read Blockpad files.
Compare that to alternatives
- Excel and Mathcad file formats are more obscure. With Blockpad you can see your intellectual property even by opening a Blockpad file in Notepad.
